The 19th meeting of the Council of Tunisian Olive Oil expects an improvement in the volume of exports of that product to 1.8 billion dinars at the end of the 2014-2015 season.
At its recent meeting, it also reported an increase in the exported quantity of packaged olive oil to reach 17,000 tons in this period.
Tunisian exports of olive oil, it should be recalled, achieved record figures whose volume amounted to 1.657 billion dinars at the end of July 2015, i.e. 60% of the value of food exports.
With regard to the quantity exported, it amounted to 265,000 tonnes until the end of July 2015. The European market cornered the lion’s share (73%), followed by the US (18%).
