Tunisia: wage bill increases by 8.2% in 2017

Mohamed Habib Zitouna, Director General of the Tunisian Institute for Competitiveness and Quantitative Studies (ITCEQ) said the total wage bill has increased by 2,932 MTD in 2017 from DM 35,725 to 38,657 MTD, a rate of 8.2 per cent, due in part to the plethora of new public service recruitment, promotions and other increments.

Speaking on Express FM Thursday, September 7, 2017, he indicated that the average salary in the Civil Service is 23,680 D per year while it is a little more than 13 thousand dinars in the non-agricultural sector and of 6,322 dinars only in agriculture.
