Tunisia: World Bank will focus on economic stability

“The World Bank will focus its action on economic stability in Tunisia which is among countries with the highest number of “Daesh” fighters,” President of the World Bank (WB) Group Jim Yong Kim said at a press conference Thursday in Washington.

“Though it is a beacon of hope compared to other countries in the region, Tunisia is the country from which come the highest number of youth fighting for “Daesh” and this because of high unemployment rates among the most educated youth and due to the loss of hope,” added Kim, who was speaking on the eve of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Spring Meetings (April 15 and 16).

The World Bank will focus its interventions on the achievement of economic stability which has been hit hard because of the terrorist attacks of Bardo (March 2015) and Sousse (June 2015), especially the tourism sector which posted a decline by nearly 70%, noted the World Bank Chief.
