Tunisian Post authorized to provide banking services

Speaking to Express FM, Mongi Marzouk, Minister of Information Technology and Communication (ICT), said that his department had asked the government five months ago to allow the Tunisian Post to provide banking services (loans and other benefits).

He justified the project by the fact that the Post is collecting 24% of national savings and ensures 70% of its activities through financial transactions.

“To do this, he noted, the Post must use wisely its wide coverage of the country and increase its use of new information and communication technologies, in accordance with the trends experienced by the postal sector in the world.”
