Tunisian products account for 83% in large retail stores (Hédi Baccour)

Tunisian products make up the dominant share of sales, accounting for 83%, President of the Chamber of Large Retail Stores, Hédi Baccour, said in a statement to AfricanManager on Wednesday dismissing claims of an influx of imported goods.

He explained that “some product categories even exceed 83%,” adding that purchasing power determines the sale of Tunisian products, as their prices are competitive compared with imported goods.

Baccour noted that customers buy products according to their means and purchasing power, both in terms of quantity and quality, stressing that large retail stores offer all products, whether local or imported.
