Tunisia’s tourism sector makes tremendous progress in 2012

Tunisia’s tourism sector grew tremendously in the first quarter of 2012, following the increase in the number of tourists visiting the country from 451 in the first quarter of 2011 to 660 between 1 January and 10 March this year, PANA reported, quoting the Tunisian ministry of tourism.

Majority of the tourists came from Arab countries, including Libya with nearly 334,000 tourists; and Algeria — 103,000.

And from Europe, Tunisia received 82,000 tourists from France; Germany (27,000), England (25,000) and Italy (18,000).
