The Committee of Ministers of the Agency for Air Navigat ion Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) has tasked the President of Equator i al Guinea, Obiang Nguema Bassogo, to talk Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade ou t of withdrawing his country from the organisation.
The president of ASECNA’s Board of Directors, Jacques Courbin, said this in Daka r on Wednesday at the opening ceremony of the 111th session of the Agency’s Boar d of Directors.
Included on the agenda of the Council is a review of the 2009 budget and finding solutions to the crisis that has hit ASECNA for the past 15 months, namely, Sen e gal’s threat to quit the 49-year-old organisation that has its headquarters in D a kar.
Mr Courbin said the Council would see to the smooth-running of the Agency despit e its challenges.
