Mourad Ben Hassine, Director General of the Export Promotion Center (CEPEX) underscored efforts to increase the value of Tunisian exports in 2026, highlighting the existence of a specific program to promote olive oil exports.
In a statement to AfricanManager, Ben Hassine noted that Tunisian olive oil has seen strong demand this year in Jordan, a country that experienced a significant drop in its domestic production due to drought.
As a result, Jordan had to import substantial quantities of Tunisian olive oil to meet its domestic demand.
Tunisia expects its exports of goods and services to grow by 4.6% in 2026, compared to 3.8% in 2025.
According to the latest statistics from the National Institute of Statistics, the value of exports in January reached 5,298.7 million dinars, up from 5,027.8 million dinars in January 2025.
