The export agenda of the Tunisian Export Promotion Center (CEPEX) for 2025 includes no less than 66 promotional actions, divided into 24 Tunisian participations in international fairs and exhibitions and 42 promotional operations (missions by businessmen, professional meetings ….), said CEPEX CEO Mourad Ben Hassine.
Speaking at a press conference in Tunis on Tuesday, Ben Hassine added that the 42 promotional operations for 2025 will target 12 new destinations (Niger, Ghana, Guinea, Mauritania, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, etc.) out of a total of 30 target markets.
He went on to say that around 800 Tunisian companies are expected to take part in CEPEX’s promotional activities, operating in 10 sectors of activity, including mainly the food and packaging industries, public works, construction materials, textiles and clothing, the health sector, medicines and medical equipment, and renewable energies.
National Olive Oil Promotion Program for 2025
The CEO of CEPEX also pointed out that a National Olive Oil Promotion Program has been drawn up for the year 2025.
This program, which includes 20 promotional actions, aims to strengthen the presence of Tunisian olive oil on traditional international markets and to diversify export destinations towards promising new markets such as China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
He added that during the last week of January 2025, CEPEX will organize a special event for the heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Tunisia, in partnership with the Technical Packing and Packaging Center (PACKTEC).
In collaboration with Tunisian embassies and CEPEX trade missions abroad, the promotional program for “green gold” will include tasting days accompanied by culinary demonstrations and a presentation of the characteristics of Tunisian olive oil and its health benefits.
Olive oil: revenues up by more than 16%
Revenues from olive oil exports rose by 16.6% to 281 million dinars (MD) in November 2024, compared with 241 MD in November 2023, according to the National Olive Oil Office (ONH).
This improvement is mainly due to the increase in the quantity of olive oil exported by 47%, to 14781 tons, despite a fall in the price by 20.6%, from 23,974 dinars/ton in November 2023 to 19,022 dinars/ton at present.
It should be noted that the quantities of packaged olive oil exported increased by 30%, reaching 2.5 thousand tons with a value of 67,000 dinars.
