The European Union (EU) has approved a CFA F 1.4 billion financial assistance in an effort to back Togo’s statistical development under its Institutional Support Programme (PAI2), official sources told PANA here Monday.
The four-year PAI2 programme is aimed at making operational the national institute of statistics, economic and demographic studies (INSEED) and improving the quality of the statistical production.
Togo has been finding it difficult to keep accurate statistics over the last years.
The financial support will also help Togolese authorities enhance the quality their economic governance.
