Gambia, Mauritania form joint economic commission

The Gambian government and its Mauritanian counterpart h ave set up a “joint commission” to implement bilateral agreements between the tw o West African countries, national broadcaster, Radio Gambia and Television Services (GRTS), an nounced Wednesday.

“We have passed the main agreement and we wish to work to implement it and to ha ve the real content so that the bilateral cooperation will become stronger,” vis i ting Mauritanian Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Minister, Salek Ould Mohammed L a min, told GRTS in Banjul, the Gambian capital.

According to the Mauritanian minister, the bilateral agreements centre on areas relating to trade, education, transportation and agriculture.

He also announced that President Mohammed Sheikh Abdallah of Mauritania will soo n make his first official visit to the Gambia.
