Tunisia: only 140 charter flights operated from Tabarka airport to end of September

Flights operated from Tunisian airports during the first nine months of the year reached 42,515 for scheduled flights and 24,209 for charter ones, against 31,798 scheduled flights and 17,914 charter flights during the same period of 2011, posting respective increases of 33.7% and 35.1%, according to latest figures from the Office of Civil Aviation and airports (OACA).

Flights operated from Tunis Carthage airport reached to end of September 2012, approximately 31,134 against 23,247 scheduled flights during the same period of 2011, up 33.9%. Charter flights through the airport increased from 2,253 in 2011 to 3,891 to the end of September 2012, thus posting an increase of 72.7%.

Tabarka Airport recorded only 140 charter flights as against 99 in 2011. That of Gabes / Matmata has also recorded no more than 40 charter flights to the end of September of the current year against only three during the same period last year.
