Niger signed agreements with three mining companies

The Nigerien government has signed agreements with three mining companies that will, over the next three years, prospect for gold and precious metals in the regions of Tillabery (west) and Maradi (east ).

The first agreement was signed with the company in change of large public works (SGTP) which will undertake research over an area of 188.7 square kms in the department of Tera.

SGTP will invest in these operations at least US$ 2.5 million and create 30 jobs during the research period.

The second agreement, signed with the Company, AIAryam Resources Limited, will focus on research activities in the departments of Kollo and Torodi (west) over an area of 374.9 square kms.

Under this agreement, the company is expected to invest US$ 7 million over the next three years.

A third agreement was signed with the company, Habjis World Wide Investment SA, for research over an area of 500 square kms in the district of Madarounfa, in the Maradi region (central-east).

That company will invest at least US$ 3 million in the project.
