Nigeria: Control tower fire forces flight suspension to Nigerian city

All flights to Nigeria’s northern city of Kaduna have been suspended after fire gutted the control tower of the airport in the city, according to the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).

NAMA said in a statement that it had already issued NOTAM (Notice To Air Men) to local and foreign airlines over the incident.

NAMA also said it was deploying its mobile tower, now at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the nation’s capital, Abuja, to Kaduna, in an effort to ensure the resumption of normal services there.

No one was injured or killed in the control tower fire.
