The Tunisian coastguard, on Saturday night, thwarted nine irregular migration attempts and rescued 223 migrants who were seeking to reach the European coasts.
The migrants are from various African countries and inlcude 111 Tunisian citizens, spokesperson for the Directorate of the National Guard Houssem Eddine Jebabli said Sunday.
The Public Prosecutor ordered relevant authorities to take all necessary measures against them, the same source added.
