Their role goes beyond mere defence; they are active in many fields, including health, agriculture and securing national exams.
The military also provides vital support to the internal security forces whenever necessary, Saied was quoted as saying in a presidency statement.
The Head of state reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the military capabilities of the national army, in addition to improving the welfare of military personnel, officials and civilian staff at the Ministry of National Defence.
