National flag carrier Tunisair has increased its annual revenues by 22% from 1.28 billion dinars in 2017 to 1.57 billion at the end of last December.
This growth is marked by the significant rise in regular activity that generated revenues of 1.4 billion dinars, up 23.6%.
The strong growth in turnover is the result of the increase in the number of passengers transported at the end of last December to 3,816,190 passengers, against 3,502,475 passengers at the end of 2017, up 9%.
Nevertheless, the company’s market share dropped from 41.8% to 36.2% between 2017 and 2018, while the load factor almost stagnated at 74.5% against 74.4% a year instead.
In addition, fuel expenditures jumped 51% to 430.2 million dinars, against 285.7 million dinars in 2017.
At the end of December, the company operates 28 aircraft including 7 leased. Similarly, staff costs rose to 229.2 million dinars, up 5.5%.
The company’s debt has almost stagnated compared to the end of December 2017 to reach 1.065 billion dinars.
Financial expenses doubled in 2018 to reach 20.2 million dinars against 10.1 million at the end of December 2017.
