Tunisia: 34.8% of Tunisian guest workers in Saudi Arabia

The Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation has reported the hiring 2,937 Tunisian guest workers, until October 31, 2015, against 2,832 in the same period of 2014, an increase of 3.7%.

These guest workers were hired in education and teaching with 1365 including 477 university teachers, accounting for 46.4% of the realized recruitment, followed by the health sector with 619 recruited and trade and marketing with 281 recruited and administration with 232 recruited.

Saudi Arabia occupies the first position in terms of recruitment of Tunisian guest workers with 1,023 i.e. 34.8% of total hires, followed by Qatar with 470 recruited and the UAE with 271 guest workers.  Arab countries are the main beneficiaries with 2,466 recruited, i.e. 84%.

The total number of officers working abroad until October 31, 2015 amounted to 17,408 Tunisian guest workers and experts and the number of candidates registered in the ATCT’s bank of applicants stood at 31,318.
