Tunisia 79th in the world in gold reserves with 6.8 tons

The World Gold Council (WGC) released the official list of a hundred countries with the largest gold reserves in the world.

According to this report, based on data taken from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Tunisia ranks 79th place in the world with gold assets estimated at 6.8 tons.

The note published by the WGC, however, indicates that the list includes only countries that have reported their gold holdings over the past six months.

Tunisia ranks 12th in the Arab world where Saudi Arabia is first with 329.9 tons of gold (17th worldwide), followed by Lebanon (286.8 tons), Algeria (173,6t) the Libya (116,6t), Iraq (89,8t), Kuwait (79T), Egypt (75,6t), Syria (25,8t), Morocco (22t), Jordan (17, 1t) and Qatar (12,4t).
