Tunisia: ATB improves NBI by 22% to more than 68 million dinars in Q1

The Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) closed the first quarter of 2020 with double-digit growth in financial indicators.

The Net Banking Income (NBI) recorded an increase of 21.9% to 68.4 million dinars on March 31, 2020 against 56.1 million at the end of March 2019.

This growth is the result of a 21.5% increase in banking operating income to 165.9 million dinars, against 136.5 million at the end of the three months of the previous year.

On another note, the bank recorded during the same period an improvement in credits net of provisions and reserved agios of +460 million dinars to 5.28 billion at the end of March 2020 against 4.82 billion on December 31, 2019.

In the first quarter, customer deposits reached 5.46 billion dinars, compared to 5.24 billion at the end of last year, or an increase of 220 million dinars.

In addition, bank operating expenses stood at 97.5 million dinars on March 31, 2020 against 80.4 million on the same date in 2019, i.e. an increase of 17.1 million dinars.

The bank’s operating expenses reached 45.2 million dinars, against 41 million at the end of March 2019, or a rise of 4.2 million.
