Tunisia: Carthage Cement increases its revenues by 3% to 84 million dinars at end March

Despite the difficulties experienced by the construction and public works sector, the company Carthage Cement was able to maintain the upward trend of its turnover, all activities combined, in the first quarter to reach 84 million dinars, up 3.4% compared to the same quarter 2021.

A clear improvement was recorded for the export turnover which grew 32% compared to the first quarter of 2021 to 12 million dinars.

The production of clinker saw a rise of 7% compared to the same period last year to 398,284 tons.

The production of cement remained almost at the same level to 459.5 thousand tons of cement. The turnover from sales on the local market has been maintained, at the end of the first quarter of 2022, at 65 million dinars.

In addition, the outstanding debt of the cement plant has decreased by about 2 million dinars compared to its level at December 31, 2021 to 410.6 million dinars at the end of last March.
