Tunisia: CERTE negotiates contract on private water management

The Center for Research and Technologies of Water (CERTE) is negotiating a contract with the Ministry of Industry to implement a sustainable water management solution in a barracks, Ahmed Ghrabi, representative of CERTE said at a webinar on water treatment technologies in the industrial environment Thursday.

“The solution, already installed in a number of university hostels in Tunisia, consists in collecting rainwater and treating it before injecting it to feed the showers.

Subsequently, this same water will be collected and reprocessed again for a second use at the flushing level, before being reused again (after recycling) for irrigation of medicinal plants that will be used for the extraction of essential oils,” he added.

The official noted that this type of project allows a better control of water resources and a limitation of waste.

Thus, several projects have been launched by the Center, using a variety of innovative techniques, including the water recycling project in a poultry slaughterhouse, the project for the treatment of the margine, the water desalination project based on membrane technologies…
