The local turnover of Les Ciments de Bizerte posted an 18.69% rise in Q1 of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, going up from 19.3 MD to 22.9 MD, according to a note on quarterly indicators.
The turnover from exports grew by 1,659 MD compared to the first quarter of 2019. Exports to Libya also resumed.
The company suspended production and sales, as the general lockdown was decreed. Thus, the overall turnover till March 23 amounted to 24.9 MD (8-day turnover loss).
Ciments de Bizerte saw its activity indicators in Q1 of 2020 display an upward trend compared to the same period in 2019. Clinker production grew more than 100% compared to the same period in 2019.
Cement production also surged 31.18%, i.e. an additional 38,805 tons. Production of artificial lime posted a 19.57% rise (+ 937 tons).
Management loans rose 3.3 MD in the first quarter of 2020, standing at 19. 2 MD up from 15.9 MD till December 31, 2019.
