Tunisia’s crab exports surpassed the 1,450 tons mark in H1 of 2018 against 120.6 tons in the same period last year, posting a rise of 1,102%.
Inflows of foreign exchange originating from these exports also grew 1,123%, jumping from 0.7 MD in 2017 to 8.6 MD in 2018, the Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries Ministry said in a press release Wednesday.
Crab sales helped drive fisheries exports growth. Up to late June 2018, about 11,065 tons were sold on the international market for a total value of 208.7 MD against 9,968 tons during the same period in 2017 for a total value of 196.2 MD
