Tunisia: Dinar lost 16.1% versus Euro in 8 months

“The dinar exchange rate has depreciated by 16.7% against the euro and 4.1% versus the US dollar from the beginning of the year until September 19, 2017 “.

This is what we learnt from a note from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), published after its last Executive Board meeting.

The BCT notes, as if to say very little against this depreciation, that “the persistence of external imbalances is likely to induce more pressure on foreign exchange reserves, thus making the management of the exchange rate, through the interventions of the BCT, an increasingly difficult task “.
