The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) reported a slight appreciation of the exchange rate of the Dinar against the Euro, in February 2021 (0.3%, monthly average), compared to January 2021 (0.2%, monthly average).
However, the issuing institute estimated, in a note on economic and monetary developments (April 2021), that the exchange rate of the Dinar depreciated 0.5% in monthly average, against the U.S. Dollar, after an appreciation by 0.4% the previous month.
In addition, it stressed that foreign exchange reserves stood at 8064 million U.S. dollars (or 157 days of imports) in the first two months of the current year, down -5.6% compared to their level of end 2020 (8545 million U.S. dollars or 162 days of imports).
