Tunisia extends 130-MW wind tender deadline by two months

Bidders for Tunisia’s 130-MW wind tender will have until December 18th to submit their application.

As is the case with a similar auction for 70 MW of solar power capacity, the Ministry of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises has extended the deadline for filing applications by two months. The prior deadline was October 18, which was also an extension from the initially targeted date of August 15.

Interested parties can apply by December 18 to bid for 120 MW of wind power capacity with individual proposals of up to 30 MW, and, in a separate category, for an additional 10 MW with single projects of up to 5 MW.

Tunisia aims to generate 30% of its electricity from renewables by 2030. That goal will be achieved through the addition of 1 GW of capacity in 2017-2020 and 1.25 GW in 2021-2030.
