Tunisia: first-half earnings of Monoprix outperform all 2016

After having a net loss of 1.2 million dinars in the first half of 2016, the “Société Nouvelle Maison de le Ville de Tunis” (SNMVT), Monoprix, returns to profit at the end of June.

Monoprix’s net profit went up sharply at the end of the first six months of the year and already exceeded that of the whole of 2016 to 2.185 million dinars.

According to the interim financial statements as of June 30, Monoprix’s total revenues amounted to 274.8 million dinars compared to 261.3 million dinars for the same period a year earlier, thus increasing by 5.2%.

Operating expenses total 272.1 million dinars against 262.6 million dinars, a slight increase of 3.6%.

To this end, operating income came out positive at 2.6 million dinars compared with a negative result of 1.3 million in the first half of 2016.
