Tunisia: foreign currency reserves fall further to 91 days of import!

According to the latest figures published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), Tunisia’s foreign currency reserves reached 12,308 MD (91 days of imports) on November 30, 2017 against 12,420 MD (92 days of import) as of November 24 and reserves covering 98 days of import (12,954 MD) as of October 27, 2017.

That level has never been reached by Tunisia for years. It even places it on the threshold of insecurity in terms of foreign currency reserves.

The latest figures from the BCT also indicated that the banknotes and currencies in circulation reached 11,326 MD as at 29/11/2017.

As for the overall volume of refinancing, it amounts to 10,130 MD as at 30/11/2017.
