Tunisia: IDB provides 56 MTD for Agricultural Development

On the sidelines of his participation in the Annual Assemblies of the Arab Funds taking place in Manama, capital of Bahrain, Yassine Brahim, Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation and Ahmed Mohamed Ali, President of the Islamic development Bank (IDB) Group signed on Tuesday, April 5 a financing agreement for an integrated agricultural development project in the delegations of Hancha, Menzel Chaker and Bir Ali Ben Khélifa, governorate of Sfax, said a statement.
 
The amount of the financing is EUR 24.5 million, equivalent to 56 million dinars.
 
The project aims to improve the working conditions of farmers in the mentioned areas, including youth, women and young job seekers, through the improvement of production and productivity in the sector and easing access to micro financing.
 
Yassine Brahim had meetings with the heads of the fund present as well as his counterparts in Arab countries.
 
These meetings discussed ways and means to promote cooperation between Tunisia and these institutions and expand trade bilaterally.
