Tunisia: inflation rises to 5.2% in May

The Executive Board of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), which met on May 28, 2014, noted that the inflation rate stood at 5.2% on year-on-year basis, against 5% the previous month.

This increase is due, in particular, to the rise in prices of food, manufactured products and services.

This same trend has affected underlying inflation with a 6.3% growth in prices excluding fresh and controlled food product in April 2014 against 6.1% a month earlier.
