A final agreement was reached on Saturday at the Ministry of Social Affairs, under which the company “Jal Group,” based in Bizerte, will resume activity from this week by reintegrating first 1,600 employees and workers.
Jal Group, the European leader in the manufacture of safety footwear, has suspended operations since July 2013, after a social conflict between the union and the company’s management.
The agreement involves giving early retirement for economic reasons to 144 employees who have reached the age of fifty, and granting dismissed employees a severance whose amount was fixed in consultation with all parties.
