Tunisia is among the global tourist destinations to visit in 2026, ranking 50th in the annual list published by the specialized platform Travel and Tour World (TTW).
The ranking highlights the countries not to be missed next year and provides an overview of global tourism demand trends. To establish this list, TTW relies on reader engagement, editorial analysis, destination performance indicators, and international safety references, including the Global Peace Index (GPI).
The list reflects the new priorities of travelers, for whom experience, safety, and authenticity are now decisive criteria. It covers six continents and more than 40 regions.
TTW underscores Tunisia’s appeal thanks to its exceptional historical heritage, Roman ruins, Mediterranean culture, and unique desert landscapes—assets that are contributing to the country’s growing tourism recovery.
Tunisia is among the Middle Eastern and African countries continuing to make progress in the tourism sector, alongside Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Mauritius, and Tanzania.
For reference, while the TTW ranking notably takes the Global Peace Index into account, Tunisia ranks 81st worldwide and 6th among the most peaceful Arab countries.
At the global level, Japan tops the TTW ranking of the best tourist destinations for 2026, followed by Canada, Ireland, and Mexico, while the United Kingdom rounds out the Top 5.
The Top 10 is completed by France, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, and Egypt, which stands out as the only Arab country to feature in the Top 10.
Europe once again confirms its dominance, with no fewer than five countries represented in the Top 10, reflecting the continued strength of its historical and cultural destinations.
Other Arab countries also appear among the global destinations, with Saudi Arabia ranked 18th, followed by the United Arab Emirates in 19th place.
