Tunisia: major contract in Côte d’Ivoire

Tunisian company ECOTI, on Monday, signed an agreement with the Ministry of Health, Environment and Sustainable Development (MINSEDD) in Côte d’Ivoire to treat waste and ensure the public cleanliness service in the agglomeration of ‘Abidjan – Sector 1, within the framework of an effective concession.

The Ivorian Ministry has specified on its official website that this signature follows the selection, after an international invitation to tender, of two companies for the management of household solid and assimilated waste in the District of Abidjan. They ECOTI and the Portuguese company EBURNIE.

These two companies will be called to ensure the cleanliness of the whole District of Abidjan.

Essentially, this involves structuring and modernizing the collection, transport, storage and waste processing chain.

According to the Ivorian Environment Department, Sector 1 (Abidjan Nord Est), entrusted to ECOTI, includes the municipalities of Abobo, Anyama, Bingerville, Cocody and Plateau.
