Tunisia: manufacturing trade balance deficit improves in January 2023

The trade balance of the manufacturing sector stood at -104.6 MD in January 2023 against -487.2 MD in January 2022, reflecting an improvement in the manufacturing trade balance deficit by 78.6%, according to the “Dashboard of Tunisian industry,” published by the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) Wednesday.

Exports of the manufacturing sector grew 24.7% in January 2023 compared to January 2022, rising to 4,448, 8 MD.

On the other hand, imports of the manufacturing sector reached 4,553.4 MD in January 2023 against 4,054.6 MD during the same month of 2022, or a 12.3% rise.
