The monthly trade deficit widened to nearly TND 2,273 million in April 2023, up 28.5% compared to the deficit recorded in March 2023, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) Tuesday.
The coverage rate lost 5.5 points in April 2023 compared to March 2023 to not exceed 68.4%.
In April, trade was characterized by contrasting developments. Exports fell by 1.6% while imports rose by 6.3%.
Excluding energy, exports were nearly stable (+0.2%), while imports fell by 2.4%.
