Tunisia: new Dutch program to ease partnership and investment

Mrs. Caroline G. Weijers, Ambassador of the Netherlands in Tunis said her country has drawn up a new program designed to ease and develop partnership and bilateral investment by means of new joint-ventures between the two countries’ businesses. This program would also set up a fund, valued between 250,000 and 1.5 million euros, to help the two countries’ private companies develop new partnerships, the ambassador said during her talk, on Wednesday in Tunis, with Mrs. Wided Bouchamaoui, Tunisian Industry, Trade and Handicrafts chairwoman.

Decision was taken to hold shortly an Information Day to present this program to the Tunisian business managers.

The ambassador also reiterated her country’s commitment to help Tunisia at this democratic transition stage, saying that the potential for developing bilateral partnership between Tunisian and Dutch enterprises remains important. Mrs. Bouchamaoui stressed, on her part, the importance of stepping up meetings between the two countries’ businessmen to develop joint investments in Tunisia. She proposed, in this respect, to organize shortly in Tunis a partnership meeting between the two countries’ business managers in Dutch partnership.
