Tunisia: October’s MMR reaches its highest level since March 2020

The average Money Market Rate (MMR) reached 7.23% in October 2022, its highest level since March 2020, according to data from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

This increase in the MMR is the result of the decision taken by the Executive Board of the BCT on October 5, 2022 to raise the bank’s key rate by 25 basis points to 7.25%.

The average MMR stood at 7.03% in September and August, 7.02% in July, 7.01 in June. It was at 6.60% in May, 6.26% in April and 6.19% in January.
