Tunisia: Renew Capital invests in Tunisian fintech Konnect

Tunisian fintech startup Konnect has received an undisclosed investment from Renew Capital to develop its digital financial platform.

Renew Capital has made its inaugural investment in Tunisia by investing in Konnect, a secure and scalable payment gateway that promotes financial inclusion and innovation, according to a statement.

Founded in 2021 by Amin Ben Abderrahman, Konnect aims to simplify financial management for users, particularly the unbanked, by providing tailored digital services that address key barriers to financial access.

Konnect’s platform enables individuals and businesses to send and receive payments securely and efficiently, both domestically and internationally. Through strategic partnerships, including a collaboration with Visa, Konnect is facilitating the region’s transition to digital payments, making secure financial services more accessible.

In October 2024, Konnect raised $1.3 million in seed funding from 54 Collective, formerly Founders Factory Africa, to expand its payment solutions and drive financial inclusion across Africa.

The latest investment from Renew Capital will support Konnect’s mission to expand its services and further bridge the financial inclusion gap in North Africa. By leveraging technology and strategic partnerships, Konnect is poised to play a significant role in the digital transformation of financial services in the region.
