Tunisia: reported industrial investments fall 5.8%

According to the latest data from the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII), reported investments in the industrial sector fell by 5.8% during the 10 months of the year, reaching 2,802.7 million Tunisian dinars (MTD).

This decline is due to the fall in investment intentions in the sector of leather and footwear (71.7%), food industry (45.8%), textiles and clothing (35.6%) and various industries (31.4%).

However, investment intentions soared in building materials, ceramics and glass (113.2%) and posted respective increases of 46.9% and 43.4% in chemical and mechanical engineering industries.
