Tunisia: Resumption of commercial traffic in Dhehiba-Wazen

An official announced the return to normal of commercial traffic at the Dhehiba–Wazen border crossing after a recent interruption on the Libyan side.

On average, nearly 300 commercial trucks cross this post daily, according to Mosaique FM.

Since March 2024, the post has experienced significant growth in commercial activity, with a notable increase in revenue and the number of travelers.

On August 1, 2025, the governor of Tataouine, Amir Gabsi, accompanied by the Director General of the Directorate of Civil Buildings at the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, gave the green light for the resumption of development works at the Dhehiba² border crossing, suspended since 2023.

These works, with a total cost of about 18 million Tunisian dinars, are expected to be completed within 420 days.
