Tunisia: SIPHAT announces a 40% drop in revenues by 2021

Nothing is going well for the “Société des Industries Pharmaceutiques de Tunisie” (SIPHAT).

The public company has seen its annual turnover fall by 41% in 2021 to 9.5 million dinars, against 16.2 million in 2020.

This decline is mainly due to the fall in sales of hospital models by 43% from 8 million dinars in 2020 to 4.5 million last year.

As for pharmacy sales, they fell by 2.5% to 2.9 million dinars.

Similarly, sales in the paramedical segment went down by 78% to 1 million dinars, whereas they generated a turnover of 4.9 million in 2020.

As for the cumulative production of the year 2021, it dropped by about 60% compared to the year 2020.

In addition, the outstanding debt of the company, which employs 468 agents, grew by

35% on December 31, 2021 compared to 2020, to 75 million dinars, from 55 million at the end of December 2020.

The debt includes both medium- and long-term credits as well as the debt to the tax authorities and short-term credits.
