Tunisia: SOTETEL improves its revenues by 28% at end September, EBITDA turns green

The Tunisian Company of Telecommunications Enterprises (SOTETEL) has achieved a turnover up 28% at the end of the first nine months of the year, compared to the same period last year, to 27.4 million dinars.

This growth is the result of the combined effect of the 31% increase in local sales to 26.9 million dinars and the 45.6% regression of export sales to 474 thousand dinars.

Operating expenses have, for their part, increased by 8.4% to 26.5 million dinars at the end of last September, against 24.4 million last year, including 13.2 million of purchases consumed (+28.2%) and personnel costs of 10.4 million (-6.3%).

The company shows a positive EBITDA of 931 thousand dinars over the first nine months of the current year, against a negative EBITDA of 3 million dinars over the same period of the year 2020, despite the effects of successive waves of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The cumulative financial income over the first nine months reached 608 thousand dinars (Investment Income) while financial expenses stood at 1 million dinars until September 2021, down 3.7% compared to 2020.
