Tunisia: STEG plans to buy liquefied natural gas

Minister of Energy, Mining and Renewable Energy, Hela Cheikhrouhou said the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) started thinking about the possibility of obtaining liquefied natural gas.

In this context, the Minister pointed out that the objective sought is to diversify natural gas resources.

“STEG should look at the dimensions and options of the infrastructure that would be cost-effective to achieve that goal and diversify our supply resources,” the Minister said at a breakfast- Debate on “the energy strategy of Tunisia 2020” organized by the Tunisian-British Chamber of Commerce on Thursday November 24.
