British investors proposed the creation of a solar power plant in Rjim Maatoug, Governorate of Kebili, with a capacity of 2,000 megawatts to be connected directly to the European power network.

During a meeting held Tuesday in Tunis with these investors operating in the solar energy sector, Mr. Ridha Saîdi, Minister Responsible for Economic Issues said the cost of this Tunisian-British project is estimated at EUR 10 billion.

The implementation of the project will take 6 years and will provide 20,000 jobs, he specified.
