Tunisia: Thomas Cook maintains 15 weekly flights

Tour operator Thomas Cook has maintained 15 flights per week to Tunisia, Minister of Tourism, Salma Elloumi Rekik announced in a statement Wednesday to Mosaique Fm, noting, in the same context, that three planes had arrived on the same day at the Enfidha airport.

According to her statement, 1,000 tourists are expected on Sunday, July 12 through Thomas Cook.

The Minister did not however hide the existence of several cancellations of reservations and flights to Tunisia from the first week of July, saying a million overnight stays have been canceled.

Thomas Cook had decided to suspend its trips to Tunisia after last June 26 terrorist attack on a hotel in Sousse. This decision follows the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ advice against travel to Tunisia.

Thus, that tour operator had canceled 13 daily flights to Tunisia, according to a report by Belgian paper Express.be.
