Speaking on the sidelines of the Tozeur International Saharan and Oasis Tourism Fair, Helmi Hussein, Director General of the Tunisian National Tourist Office, said that the number of participants in this first edition of the fair had reached 500 and exceeded the number expected.
In a statement broadcast on a private radio station in Tunis, he explained that the number of non-resident visitors, or foreign tourists, had reached 9.88 million and was expected to exceed 10 million tourists by the end of the year, which he said was a record number.
He added that tourism receipts amounted to 6.63 billion dinars from the beginning of the year to November 20.
