Tunisia: Yassine Brahim talks about “strategic plan” based on 5% growth

“How to make Tunisia more appealing to US investors” was the topic of the monthly lunch discussion held by the American Chamber of Commerce in Tunisia (AMCHAM Tunisia), in the presence of the Minister of Development, Investment and international Cooperation, Yassine Brahim who was the keynote speaker and Daniel Rubinstein, US Ambassador to Tunisia, as a guest of honor.
 
The minister emphasized the government’s vision for the future by announcing the broad outlines of the new five-year plan, which encourages, in particular, thanks to a series of reforms, good governance, diversification of fabric through economic sustainability and regionalization and the establishment of a national strategy for green Economy to reduce environmental risks.
 
According to the Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, the “Strategic Plan 2016-2020” will be based on an average growth rate of 5%.
 
“The Tunisian-American relations are of major importance for Tunisia ,” said Brahim. He reiterated the need to increase the volume of trade and investment between the two countries and expressed his determination to establish a free trade agreement to reduce barriers to trade and investment.
