CONECT International announced Wednesday the organization of a Tunisian business mission to Antananarivo, Madagascar, from November 2 to 6, 2025, in collaboration with the Groupement des Entreprises de Madagascar (GEM).
According to the Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises, “this mission aims to strengthen Tunisian-Malagasy economic ties and explore new partnership opportunities.”
The program includes a Tunisian-Malagasy economic forum, B2B meetings with key Malagasy market players, and visits to companies and industrial units.
The targeted sectors for this mission are agri-food, construction & building materials, higher education & vocational training, renewable energy, healthcare, tourism, and ICT.
“Madagascar, a member of COMESA and AfCFTA, represents a strategic gateway to African markets for Tunisian companies, offering preferential advantages and a gradual reduction of tariff barriers,” the Confederation highlighted.
Relations between Tunisia and Madagascar, established over 55 years ago, were recently strengthened by a bilateral framework agreement and several memorandums of understanding (January 2025).
Trade exchanges, which have been steadily rising, reached nearly USD 9.14 million in 2023, including USD 7.93 million in Tunisian exports (electronics, vegetable oils, machinery, agri-food products) and USD 4.40 million in Malagasy exports to Tunisia.
With its young human capital, natural resources, and promising sectors such as agro-industry, renewable energy, mining, digital economy, and sustainable tourism, Madagascar is a key partner for diversifying markets, developing win-win partnerships, and boosting Tunisia’s role in African economic integration.
