Tunisia: “Clarke Energy” wants to develop cogeneration activities

British group, “Clarke Energy,” present in Tunisia since 2007 and authorized distributor and service partner for GE gas engines in many countries of the world, organized, on Wednesday, a seminar on “cogeneration, associated gas recovery and energy efficiency: the application of gas engines.”

The seminar, held at the residence of the British Ambassador in Tunis, shed light on investment opportunities in Tunisia of “Clarke Energy,” provider of flexible solutions in cogeneration / combined heat & power (CHP) using gas engines.

According Ali Hjaiej, sales manager at “Clarke Energy Tunisia,” the group offers solutions in the fields of natural gas cogeneration, treatment and recovery of biogas and special gases.

In November 2009, the group had delivered the turnkey installation of three engines on the oil field “Waha” in southern Tunisia.

The project was designed to reduce emissions from flares of oil fields and facilities under the form of high chimneys for the burning of oil by-products.

The group has also installed a biogas facility at the site of the Tunisian wholesale Market Company (SOTUMAG), which helps recover gases from waste decomposition. Today, this project is blocked, said Ali Hjaiej, due to the absence of an operator to manage the waste.
